  1. Go to https://www.wisdomstars.com
  2. Click on “I AM A CONSULTANT”.
  3. Enter your email address, which will be used as your WisdomStars user account.
  4. Type the password you want to use to get into WisdomStars.
  5. Review “Terms of Service” and “Privacy Policy” clicking on the links above the “REGISTER” button.
  6. Click “REGISTER” button.
  7. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to verify your email address. Simply click on this link to activate your account. Now, your account is ready to use.
  8. Enter the same email address and password you had used during registration to get into WisdomStars.
  9. Next, you should update your profile to tell us more about yourself.

How can consultants fill up profile?

It is important to keep your profile in WisdomStars up-to-date and complete. You can update your profile after you login to WisdomStars.

  1. When you click “Update Profile” link, your profile page will open up where you can fill up your profile. The first section in the profile is basic information – your name, email, location, phone, time zone, area of expertise and time availability for consultancy. Since LinkedIn is widely used in professional community, we want our consultants to enter their LinkedIn profile URL as well. Our site also allows you to upload your picture. You can crop your image to resize it so that it fits to the site properly.
  2. The next section of the profile allows you to write up a summary about yourself. There are also four questions intended to capture the information on how you can help our clients on their problems.
  3. The next part is privacy settings. You can choose to hide your full name, profile picture and LinkedIn profile link in the search result for privacy purpose.
  4. In “Professional Experience” section, you can add your past and current work experiences. It is recommended to give a short description of your role and job duties for each of your job.
  5. In “Academic Qualification” section, you can add the details of degrees you attained.
  6. You can also add your publication details on “Publication” section. On the “Description” box, you can provide title, co-authors and any other relevant information.
  7. Similarly, in “Award/Recognition”, you can add details about any awards you received.
  8. Under “Skills” section, you can enter as many skills as you have.
  9. You can also upload your resume if it has more information in it. We support various widely used document formats (Portable Document Format, MS Word documents, Rich Text Format, Simple text file)
  10. In “Project Categories”, you can add the topics which you want to consult on. You can select one or more topics from our list of topics and save them to your profile.
  11. You can also add any other documents which you think can help on enhancing your profile. An example of such documents is a scanned copy of your professional accreditation.
  12. You can opt-in to get regular updates and notification from WisdomStars by clicking checkbox on “Notification Alert” and saving it.
  13. You can indicate your preference for travels during consulting assignments. If you do not want to travel for consulting projects, you can select “Not Willing” and save it.

How do you search for projects?

As a consultant, you can use our site to search for projects which best suit your expertise and preference.

  1. You can type some keywords (for example: management) and click “Search”.
  2. This will return the projects related to those keywords from our database.
  3. You can further refine the search by specifying search options.Click on “MORE SEARCH OPTIONS” to see what filter criteria you can provide for the search.

How can consultants apply for projects?

WisdomStars recommends projects to consultants based on their expertise and the project needs. Consultants can see the list of such recommended projects from their dashboard. Consultants can also search for the projects which meet their requirements. Once you find a project which matches your skill and requirements, you can apply for the project. To apply for the project:

  1. Click on the “Project Details”
  2. Then, click “Apply”

The client will be notified of your interest on the project. After reviewing your profile, the client might reach out to you for next steps.

Please note that you must have signed the contract with WisdomStars to be able to apply for any project.

How can consultants upload documents which they had written for their projects?

Consultants can share the document with the clients through WisdomStars.

  1. After you login to WisdomStars, click on “Projects” to go to the list of all the projects you are working on.
  2. Click on the project for which you had created the document.
  3. You will see the details for the project. If you scroll down, you will see “My Deliverables” section.
  4. Click “Add”.
  5. Give a meaningful name and some description for the document. Then, click “choose file”, locate your file in your machine and click the name of the file.
  6. Click “Save” to finish the upload.

How can consultants record their time spent on the project and bill the client for the same?

Consultants can use WisdomStars to keep track of their time spent on the project and use it to invoice the client.

  1. After you login to WisdomStars, click on “Projects” to go to the list of all the projects you are working on.
  2. Click on the project for which you had created the document.
  3. You will see the details for the project. If you scroll down, you will see “Total Project Duration” section.
  4. Click “Add”.
  5. Choose the date and enter number of hours you worked on that day. You can also use fraction of hours. For example, 0.5.
  6. You can also add some explanatory remarks for your effort.
  7. Click “Save” to log your time.
  8. If you want to generate an invoice, there is a “Generate Invoice” button in “Project Invoice” section.

  10. You can add more users from your organization under your account and grant them appropriate roles. Currently, we support 4 different roles:
    • Finance admin who can approve and pay invoices sent by consultants.
    • Project admin who can create and manage projects.
    • Project viewer who can work with consultants for project execution.
  11. These users will get temporary password in their email, which they can use to sign into their WisdomStars accounts.

How do you search for consultants?

Searching for consultants in Wisdom Stars is fairly easy.

  1. In home page, make sure you have selected "Search for Consultants" and then type keywords for consultants. Keywords can be the consultant's name or area of expertise.
  2. You can further refine the search by specifying search options.Click on “MORE SEARCH OPTIONS” to see what filter criteria you can provide for the search.

On the search result, you will see consultants matching the search filter. You can click on the consultant's name to view more details.

How can clients create the project?

Clients can follow the steps below to create the project in WisdomStars.

  1. Login to WisdomStars.
  2. On the dashboard view, click on “Projects”.
  3. You will see “Create Project” button. Click on it to create a new project.
  4. Fill up details for the project.
    • Provide a meaningful name and description.
    • Select the project category which best defines the category of the project.
    • If you know how long the project might run, you can provide estimated duration.
    • Specify whether onsite presence is needed for the project.
    • List down the skills you are looking in the consultant, and clearly state responsibilities of the consultant in the project.
    • Also, write down the preferred start date for the consultant.
  5. It is good idea to add documents related to the project so that consultants can have good understanding of scope of work. To add documents,
    • Click “Add” button in “Project Documents” section.
    • Provide a meaningful name and description for the file.
    • Click “Choose File” and locate the document in your machine.
    • If there are more documents you want to add, click “Add” button and repeat same steps.
    • Click “Save” when you are done.
  6. Finally, click “Save”. This will publish your project to WisdomStars.

How can clients hire consultants for their projects?

Clients can use search feature in WisdomStars to look for consultants who can work on their projects. Other option to find consultants is to check “Recommended Consultants” which include consultants suggested by WisdomStars based on your project needs and consultants’ expertise. If you want to hire consultants for your project,

  1. You can simply click “HIRE ME” button next to the consultant’s thumbnail image.
  2. Next, select the project for which you want to hire the consultant.
  3. Click “Send”. This will send the hire request to the consultant.
  4. If the consultant accepts your hire request, the hiring initiation process will continue.

Alternatively, if any consultants had applied for your project, you can review their applications and decide whether to accept or decline those applications. For this,

  1. Login to WisdomStars.
  2. In the dashboard view, click on “Projects”.
  3. Click on “Watch Applications” next to project name.
  4. This will list all the consultants who had applied for the project.
  5. Review the consultant’s profile and any comments they had in their application requests. Decide whether to accept or decline the application.

How do clients see the progress status of their projects?

WisdomStars provides a platform for end to end project execution. Consultants uploads their deliverables to WisdomStars and updates project completion percentage to give an insight of the project’s progress to the clients. In order to check project’s progress status and consultant’s work,

  1. Login to WisdomStars.
  2. In the dashboard view, click on “Projects”.
  3. From the project list, click on the project that you want to check.
  4. Project details will show progress percentage which is based on consultant’s self-assessment of the progress.
  5. Also, in “Consultant Project Document” section, you will find documents the consultant had uploaded. You can download the document clicking the document icon next to the document name.

How can clients close the project after it is done?

After the consultant completes all her tasks in the project, she changes the status of the project as completed. Client who owns the project is notified in email about this. Client can go to WisdomStars to review the consultant’s work and close the project if satisfied with the consultant’s work. Closing the project involves following steps:

  1. Login to WisdomStars.
  2. In the dashboard view, click on “Projects”.
  3. From the project list, click on the project that you want to close.
  4. Click “Close Project” button.
  5. In the popup, choose “Objective met and payment cleared” if the project is closed under normal circumstances. Otherwise, choose “Closed for other reason”. It is a good idea to write down closing remarks and to attach any document relevant to the project closure (for example, a formal project closure report).
  6. Click “Confirm”.
